BUSINESS CLUSTERS
In business terms, a cluster is a geographic concentration of specialised business entities, connected by mutual relations, operating in related or complementary sectors, collaborating and competing at the same time. In particular, they are businesses, research organisations, business environment institutions and public entities.

Characteristic features of a cluster include the following:

• Participation of entities representing businesses, research organisations and public administration;
• High degree of interactions between involved entities;
• Focus on the dominant/related field;
• Geographic concentration and the awareness of a shared territorial identity of the cluster members;
• Formalised collaboration/signed mutual agreement or understanding;
• Nominated coordinator
